The mission of the Committee of 100 is to provide private sector leadership and resources to retain, expand and attract quality jobs and investment to the Burke County region for the benefit of its residents.

Progressive communities prosper by harnessing all their available resources and using that aggregate strength to enhance their value proposition. Those individual resources, including fiscal, natural, human, private, and governmental, can by themselves accomplish a lot, but when they are pulling together in the same direction, the results can be amazing. A prosperous Burke County won’t just happen; it will require:

There is no magic to success in economic development. There is, however, a winning strategy. That strategy is a comprehensive approach to economic development that includes initiatives to build upon the community’s assets and capture opportunities, while holding threats at bay.

The Committee of 100 is a forward-thinking organization created to provide private sector leadership and resources to Burke County’s economic development efforts. The organization was conceived several years ago by a group of visionaries who shared a passion for seeing Burke County and its residents prosper. These business and community leaders poured time, energy, and resources into making the Committee of 100 a reality, and our current leadership recognizes and appreciates their hard work.

Leadership in Burke County believes the time is right for the Committee of 100 to foster a partnership between business, industry, government, and education to be a dynamic force for nurturing and expanding local companies and attracting new business to Burke County.
